Katharine Smith Santos

Katharine Smith Santos is an associate with the law firm of Lynn, Gartner, Dunne & Covello, LLP, where she focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation at the trial and appellate level in federal and state court. Her areas of practice include corporate law, real property law, labor law, constitutional law, and class/collective actions. She also has experience in many aspects of aircraft transactions, including letters of intent, purchase agreements, escrow agreements, FAA and International Registry documents, bank lien releases, and closings.

Katharine entered the University of Virginia at the age of 14 as part of the Echols Scholarship program for top students demonstrating a desire to challenge themselves academically and explore multiple fields of study. She graduated cum laude at age 18 with a Bachelor of Arts in the Political & Social Thought distinguished majors program, and with a minor in Japanese. Her interdisciplinary senior thesis drew heavily on the fields of the history and anthropology of technology.

After completing her undergraduate career, Katharine entered the University of Virginia Law School. She graduated at age 21, and continued on to a federal clerkship at the U.S. Court of International Trade in New York, New York. She then began work as a trademark litigator with the intellectual property firm of Pennie & Edmonds, LLP. She joined Lynn, Gartner, Dunne & Covello, LLP, in 2018.

Katharine is admitted to practice law before the Courts of the State of New York, as well as the federal district courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is further admitted to the federal appellate courts of the Second, Fourth, Seventh, and Federal Circuits.
